What Are Glass Railings?
Glass railings (also called glass balustrades) use large panels of toughened safety glass as a barrier for balconies, staircases, terraces, pool areas, and mezzanines. Unlike traditional metal or wood railings, glass provides an unobstructed view, makes spaces feel larger, and adds a contemporary, luxurious aesthetic.
At Krishna Glass House, we install frameless and semi-frameless glass railing systems using 10mm and 12mm Saint-Gobain and Modiguard toughened glass. All hardware is marine-grade stainless steel (SS 304/316) for corrosion resistance and longevity.
Types of Glass Railings
- Frameless Glass Railings — Glass panels fixed to base channels or spigots with no visible framing. The purest, most minimalist look.
- Semi-Frameless Railings — Glass panels with a stainless-steel top-rail handrail for added grip and design accent.
- Post-Mounted Glass Railings — Glass panels between stainless-steel posts. Ideal for decks and poolside areas.
- Glass Staircase Railings — Custom-cut panels that follow the slope of your staircase with precision-machined fittings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely. Toughened glass is 4-5 times stronger than regular glass. If it breaks, it shatters into small, blunt pebbles instead of sharp shards. All our railing glass meets IS 2553 safety standards.
We use 10mm and 12mm toughened glass. 12mm is recommended for balconies with direct wind exposure; 10mm is suitable for indoor staircases.
Frameless railings use only glass panels fixed with base channels or spigots — no visible frames. Semi-frameless have a stainless-steel handrail on top with frameless glass below.
Pricing depends on glass thickness, height, length, and hardware. Contact us at +91 87001 62623 for a free measurement and quotation.
A standard balcony railing (10-15 running feet) is installed in 1 day. Larger staircases or multi-balcony projects take 2-3 days.
